Welcome Message from our Founder
Last Chance Horse and Pony Rescue and Sanctuary (LCHPR) is a Non-profit Registered Canadian Charity, founded in 2005 by Sharon Wallace, that cares for mistreated, injured, surrendered, abandoned horses and ponies. Our Rescue is located in Ridgeway/Crystal Beach, Ontario. The Rescue offers rehabilitation and long-term care.
After the horses arrive at the Rescue they are rehabilitated both physically and emotionally, they remain at the Sanctuary, as this will become their forever home. We believe that every horse deserves a loving home and a chance to thrive.
To see these majestic animals grow, heal and learn to trust again is so incredibly rewarding, but to see them change the lives of the people they touch is the most rewarding part of it all.
At LCHPR, we provide many Community Outreach Programs. We encourage people to enjoy their time spent with the animals. We strive to educate and inspire every individual who visits us.
These programs include:
- Miniature Therapy Program
- Youth and Teen Program
- On-Site Visits
- Community Events and Public Tours
The Rescues have a full-time support group of Volunteers that focus on daily care and rehabilitation. The Rescue could not function without the dedication of these outstanding individuals.
